Son of Michael Nylander and brother of Alexander. Born in Calgary when his father played there in the NHL.
Excellent playmaking skills like his father, with a better shot. Good skater. He processes the game faster than other players.
A bit undersized for the NHL (181 cm). Only average at best in the play without the puck.
Played alongside his father in 2013 in Allsvenskan (second highest Swedish league) at the age of 16 with Södertälje.
Best forward in the 2014 Under 18 World Championships.
2017 World champion and tournament MVP. Best plus-minus rating at the 2017 (+11) and 2019 (+16) World Championships.

Excellent créateur de jeu comme son père, mais avec un meilleur tir. Bon patineur. Il calcule le jeu plus vite que les autres.
Un peu petit pour la NHL (1m81) et tout juste moyen dans son jeu sans palet.
À 16 ans, il a joué avec son père en 2013 en Allsvenskan (deuxième division suédoise) avec Södertälje.
Meilleur attaquant du Mondial des moins de 18 ans 2014.
Champion du monde 2017 et meilleur joueur du tournoi. Il a fini les Mondiaux avec le meilleur ratio +/- en 2017 (+11) et en 2019 (+16).
