Born in Chromnice where his father worked as a railwayman. Grew up in Prostějov where he also began playing hockey.
Was a three sport athlete and also very good at football and tennis.
Known as a hard-working left blueliner and very loyal teammate. Good at blocking shots.
He spent the majority of his playing career with RH Brno and scored 79 points (34+45) in 319 league games.
One of six players who won an impressive 11 league titles with Brno.
Often paired with Jaromír Meixner, who also was his favourite defensive partner.
Represented Czechoslovakia 3 times (1 goal). Retired in 1968.
Teammate František Vaněk gave him the nickname "Maugli" (Czech for Mowgli in The Jungle Book). Also nicknamed "LeClerk".
Worked as a policeman specialized on youth crime.

Né à Chromnice où son père était cheminot, il a grandi à Prostějov où il a commencé le hockey.
Il a pratiqué trois sports puisqu'il jouait également au football et au tennis.
Défenseur gauche connu un grand travailleur et un coéquipier loyal. Bon pour bloquer les lancers.
Il passa la majeure partie de sa carrière au RH Brno et totalisa 79 points (34+45) en 319 matchs de championnat.
L'un des six joueurs à avoir remporté 11 championnats de Tchécoslovaquie avec Brno.
Souvent aligné avec Jaromír Meixner, son partenaire défensif préféré.
International tchécoslovaque 3 fois (1 but). Retraité en 1968.
Son coéquipier František Vaněk le surnomma "Maugli" (c'est-à-dire Mowgli dans le Livre de la Jungle). Également surnommé "LeClerk".
Il travaillait comme policier, spécialisé dans la brigade des mineurs.
