Son of legendary Czech player Vladimir Martinec.
Born in Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic) but grew up partially in West Germany (Germany) where his father played for a few seasons.
He played his junior hockey with Kaufbeuren.
Played a physical game and picked up a lot of penalty minutes (more than 2000 in Germany).
Announced his retirement on July 9, 2011.
Had a brief comeback between 2015 and 2017.
Went on to work as a coach.

Fils du légendaire joueur tchèque Vladimir Martinec.
Né en Tchécoslovaquie (République Tchèque) mais a en partie grandi en Allemagne où son père joua quelques saisons.
Il joua en junior à Kaufbeuren.
Il pratiquait un jeu physique et collecta un fort total de minutes de pénalité (plus de 2000 en Allemagne).
Il annonça sa retraite le 9 juillet 2011 mais fit un retour entre 2015 et 2017.
Il est ensuite devenu coach.
