Was always an outside candidate for the Soviet/Russian national team.
Had the chance to play for CSKA Moscow but didn’t want to be tied up by all the discipline.
Got to represent his country as a junior at the 1982 European Junior Championships and at the 1989 Winter Universiade.
In 1991 he played in the World Championships as well as in the Canada Cup.
Represented his country a total of 19 games between 1990 and 1991.
Marin also played some hockey in Austria and Hungary, eventually retiring in 2000.
For some while he was the goaltending coach in the Krylya Sovetov Moscow system.
He passed away on August 9, 2016, although most sources claim it was August 10 (It was reported that day).
Marin was buried at the Khovansky cemetery in Moscow.

Il a toujours été un candidat extérieur pour une place en sélection soviétique/russe.
Il a eu sa chance pour jouer au CSKA Moscou mais il ne souhaitait pas être enfermé dans la discipline militaire.
Il a porté le maillot soviétique aux Championnats d'Europe 1982 des moins de 18 ans, puis aux Universiades 1989.
En 1991 il a pris part aux championnats du monde puis à la coupe Canada.
19 sélections pour l'URSS entre 1990 et 1991.
Marin joua également en Autriche (Graz 1993) puis en Hongrie dans les deux dernières années avant sa retraite en 2000.
Pendant quelques temps il fut entraîneur des gardiens des Krylia Sovetov.
Décédé le 9 août 2016, bien que certaines sources citent le 10 août (date de l'annonce). Enterré au cimetière Khovansky de Moscou.
