His two brothers, Reto and Thomas also played hockey at the highest level.
First emerged as a talented defenseman when he won the Swiss junior championship in 1977.
Spent the majority of his playing career with HC Davos, but also played briefly with SC Bern and HC Ambri-Piotta.
He was an ambitious player with a strong will to win. Good on the powerplay.
Strong in front of his own net. Formed a good defensive tandem with Ron Wilson in Davos.
Retired in 1989 and went on to work in a bank.

Apparu comme un défenseur talentueux quand il remporta le championnat suisse junior en 1977.
Il a joué la majeure partie de sa carrière au HC Davos, mais a aussi joué brièvement au SC Berne et au HC Ambri-Piotta.
Joueur ambitieux avec une forte volonté de gagner. Bon en supériorité numérique.
Solide devant sa cage. Il formait un bon duo défensif avec Ron Wilson à Davos.
Retraité en 1989, il a alors travaillé dans une banque.
