Good sized defenseman in the 1960s. He was a product of HK Jesenice. In 1968 he changed his club to HK Olimpija Ljubljana together with several other key players like Slavko Beravs, Rudi Hiti and Roman Smolej. This caused an uproar among the passionate Jesenice fans and triggered a rivalry between Ljubljana and Jesenice.
In Summer 1973 Olimpija Ljubljana didn't answer him about his application, so he played summer games with Italian club Alleghe, then signed a license with Jesenice again. Olimpija tried to block his registration but HK Jesenice made clear they would let him play anyway, barring any suspension threat, because they thought the federation committee was under Ljubljana influence. The Jug case was soon resolved. Nevertheless, the conflict between the two clubs was not over. HK Jesenice was deprived of his national title 1974 two months after winning it. Meanwhile players such as Jug played the World Championships Pool B in... Ljubljana.

Défenseur solide de l'époque prospère du hockey yougoslave - ou plutôt slovène. Formé à l'école du HK Jesenice, il rejoignit en 1968 les rangs du rival Olimpija Ljubljana avec d'autres joueurs de renom comme Slavko Beravs, Rudi Hiti et Roman Smolej. Le différend entre les deux clubs n'en devint que plus intense.
À l'été 1973 l'Olimpija Ljubljana n'a pas répondu sur sa reconduction, donc Jug a joué des matches estivaux avec le club italien d'Alleghe puis a signé une licence avec Jesenice. L'Olimpija a essayé de bloquer son enregistrement mais le HK Jesenice a fait savoir qu'il le ferait jouer quoi qu'il lui en coûte, bravant toute éventuelle sanction, car il considérait les instances fédérales sous influence de Ljubljana. Le cas Jug fut vite mis sous le boisseau. Néanmoins, le conflit entre les deux clubs n'en resta pas là. Le HK Jesenice fut privé de son titre national 1974 deux mois après l'avoir gagné... et après avoir mis ses joueurs comme Jug à disposition de l'équipe nationale pour le Mondial B à Ljubljana.
