Offensive-minded defenseman with a good feel for the play and precise passes.
Always played hard in the games and never gave up.
Represented Czechoslovakia 71 times (12 goals). Scored 69 goals in 246 league games.
Played for Kladno until 1967. Some of the players that he formed a defensive duo with included, Zdeněk Müller, Premysl Hajny, František Pospisil and Josef Horesovský.
Had to amputate both legs in the 1990s.
In 1998 he was posthumously chosen as an honorary citizen of Kladno.
Inducted into the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame.

Il jouait toujours intensément et ne lâchait jamais rien.
