Goaltender with an aggressive style.
He was very active with the stick, using it to keep the front of his net clear.
Boucher effectively protected the side-net passing lanes and wasn’t afraid to the poke-check.
Decent footwork and good balance. He didn’t waste energy on his movement.
Had good recovery when falling to the ice and never quit on the play. Inconsistent.
Tried to do too much in passing and shooting the puck.
He was the top goaltender in the WHL 1996/97. Won the Calder Cup in 1998.
Made the NHL All-Rookie team in 1999/2000.
In 2004 he set an NHL-record with a shutout streak that lasted for 332 minutes and 1 second.
Boucher was invited to the 2012 World Championships but declined.
Announced his retirement on March 13, 2014.

Gardien au style agressif.
Il était très actif avec sa crosse, qu'il utilisait pour garder net les abords de sa cage.
Boucher protégeait efficacement sa zone et n'avait pas peur d'aller au contact.
Un jeu de jambes correct et un bon équilibre. Il ne gâchait pas d'énergie dans ses mouvements.
Il se relevait vite quand il tombait sur la glace et ne perdait jamais le fil du jeu. Irrégulier.
Il essayait d'en faire un peu trop dans la passe ou la relance du palet.
Il fut désigné meilleur gardien en WHL en 1996/97. Il remporta la Coupe Calder en 1998.
Il fit partie de l'équipe-type des rookies NHL en 1999/2000.
En 2004 il a établi un record NHL en gardant sa cage inviolée pendant 332 minutes et 1 seconde.
Boucher a été invité à participer aux Mondiaux de 2012 mais déclina l'invitation.
Il annonca sa retraite le 13 mars 2014.
328 parties de saison régulière de NHL avec 90,1% d'arrêts.
