Grew up admiring the play of Scott Stevens. Popular player among coaches and teammates. Always ready to sacrifice himself wholeheartedly for his team.
Did many good things that did not show up in the stats. He had strong defensive skills. Liked to dish out hits on a frequent basis.
Passionate player on the ice who wore his heart on his sleeve. First and foremost a terrific team player. Limited offensively and not the best skater.
Announced his retirement on December 19, 2014. Worked as an assistant junior coach in Finland.
He represented Finland 170 times, scoring 20 points (7+13).
Inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame. NHL totals: 29-1-1-2

Il a annoncé sa retraite le 19 décembre 2014. Il a travaillé comme assistant-coach en Finland avec des juniors.
