His first sport was gymnastics and his coach was Jenő Paprika, who took part to Seoul 1988 Olympics.
When he was 9 the third indoor ice rink in Hungary opened in Dunaújváros. He went to see a game with his dad ans was so fascinated he immediately wanted to try this new sport. Paprika was disappointed.
Good-sized forward (191 cm – 6’3”) who came to North America in 2013/2014 and played in the CHL, AHL and ECHL.
A Ferencváros fan since his childhood, he became their captain and led them to a league championship in 2019.
His son is a promising football player.
Retired from national team in February after 134 games.

Son premier sport était la gymnastique, où son entraîneur était Jenő Paprika, ancien participant aux Jeux olympiques 1988 de Séoul.
Quand il avait 9 ans la troisième patinoire couverte de Hongrie ouvrit ses portes dans sa ville de Dunaújváros. Il alla voir un match avec son père et fut si fasciné qu'il voulut essayer ce nouveau sport - s'entraînant à tirer dans la cour de sa maison après le crépuscule - et abandonna les agrès. Ce ne fut pas du goût de Paprika.
Attaquant de bonne taille (191 cm), parti en Amérique du Nord en 2013/2014. Il a joué en CHL, en AHL et en ECHL.
Supporter de Ferencváros depuis son plus jeune âge, il en est devenu le capitaine, champion en 2019.
Son fils est un footballeur prometteur. Gergő avait aussi pratiqué ce sport en parallèle du hockey.
Il a pris sa retraite internationale en février 2024 après 134 sélections.
