Canadian born to an Irish mother and Canadian father, but grew up in Cambridge, MA, and attended school in the area.
Graduated from Rindge Tech and Cambridge Latin School in 1927.
Never played college hockey but was a star with the Boston Olympics, winning the U.S. Amateur Championship on three occasions (1935, 1937, and 1939).
Known to always chew chewing gum during games.
Lived in the Boston area where he worked as a sales manager for a large metal company.
He also worked as a truck driver.
He also worked as a Boston Garden goal judge during NHL and other hockey games.
He passed away after a brief illness at his daughter’s home in Meredith, N.H.
Tom Moone is buried at Westview Cemetery in Lexington, MA.
His last name was spelled both as "Moone" and "Moon", but he himself used "Moone".

Né au Canada d'un père canadien et d'une mère irlandaise, il a grandi à Cambridge (Massachussets) où il fut scolarisé.
Diplômé de Rindge Tech et de la Cambridge Latin School en 1927.
Il n'a jamais joué au hockey universitaire mais il était une star des Boston Olympics, remportant le championnat amateur américain à trois occasions (1935, 1937 et 1939).
Connu pour mâcher du chewing gum durant les matchs.
Il vivait dans la banlieue de Boston où il travaillait comme directeur des ventes dans une grande compagnie métallurgique.
Il a également travaillé comme conducteur de camions.
Il a aussi été juge de but au Boston Garden pendant des matchs de NHL entre autres.
Il est décédé d'une maladie subite au domicile de sa fille à Meredith, dans le New Hampshire.
Tom Moone est enterré au cimetière Westview de Lexington, dans le Massachussets.
Son nom est parfois orthographié "Moone" ou "Moon", mais lui-même préférait "Moone".
