Played his first hockey at the age of 12, for his local team, Young Sprinters HC.
Developed into a smart and durable two-way player over the years.
A type of player who always led by example. Achieved legendary player status in Switzerland.
He played a total of 1069 games in the National League, scoring 416 goals and 444 assists.
He won three league titles with SC Bern in 1991, 1992 and 1997 (when he scored the championship-winning goal).
Represented Switzerland 156 times and was very useful for their team.
Retired on March 19, 2009. Became an ice hockey coach.
His sons Maxime and Arnaud both played in the NLA.

Il a commencé le hockey à 12 ans dans le club local des Young Sprinters de Neuchâtel
Devenu au fil des ans un joueur endurant et intelligent dans les deux sens de la glace.
D'abord placé à l'aile droite lorsqu'il a rejoint Berne, il a ensuite retrouvé sa position favorite de centre.
Le type de joueur qui menait par l'exemple, il a un statut de légende du hockey suisse.
Il totalise 1069 matchs en Ligue Nationale A, a marqué 416 buts et 444 assistances.
Champion du Suisse avec le SC Berne en 1991, 1992 et 1997 (où il marqua le but du titre).
156 sélections avec la Suisse, dont il fut toujours un joueur très utile à l'équipe.
Retraité le 19 mars 2009. Il est devenu entraîneur de hockey.
Ses fils Maxime et Arnaud ont également joué également en LNA.
