Center who possessed a lot of natural ability and finesse. Determined player with a good winning attitude.
Born and raised in Winnipeg where he learned to play ice hockey on local ponds and rinks. Known as either "Pop" or "Foxy".
Drafted from the Selkirk Fishermen into Canada’s 1932 gold-medal-winning squad. He was an instant hit, led Canada in scoring
Came to England in 1936 and went on to play four years for Harringay, captaining the team to the London and Coronation Cups in his first season, and the league title in 1937/38.
He won another London Cup during his last season in 1939/40.
Returned home to Winnipeg after WW II. Coached his hometown Monarchs to a Memorial Cup in 1946.
Also worked as a machinist.
Inducted into the British Hockey Hall of Fame.

Il est né et a grandi à Winnipeg où il a appris le hockey sur les étangs gelés et les patinoires. Surnommé "Pop" ou "Foxy".
Choisi chez les Fishermen de Selkirk pour intégrer l'équipe canadienne championne olympique 1932, il devint le meilleur marqueur du tournoi.
Il arriva en Angleterre en 1936 et joua quatre ans pour les Racers d'Harringay, capitaine de l'équipe pour la coupe de Londres et la coupe Coronation dès la première saison, et le gain du championnat en 1937/38.
Il a remporté une autre coupe de Londres pour sa dernière saison en 1939/40.
Retourné à Winnipeg après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il y entraîna les Monarchs jusqu'à la coupe Memorial en 1946.
Il travaillait comme machiniste.
Intronisé au temple de la renommée du hockey britannique.
