Excellent skater with good speed and agility.
Went on to win eight league titles with CSKA Moscow.
Often tasked to shut down the great Vyacheslav Starshinov in the Soviet league.
Very popular with the coaches as he always executed his tasks from them flawlessly, often shutting down the best opposing players.
193 goals in 400 league games. Retired in 1972.
Went on to coach in ice hockey for many years, using his coaching mentor Anatoli Tarasov’s methods successfully.
In later years he assisted Viktor Tikhonov.
Inducted into the Russian Hockey Hall of Fame. The city of Penza erected a monument in his honour.

Il devint plus tard l'assistant de Viktor Tikhonov.
Intronisé au temple de la renommée du hockey russe. La ville de Penza a érigé un monument à son honneur.
