Had English and Scottish roots, his older brother Robert was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, from where his parents moved to Canada.
Had a total of three brothers and two sisters. Nicknamed "Nap" at birth by his father.
Smallest player on the 1951 World Champion team, but very speedy player. Called the "little red-headed ball of fire".
Won the Alberta Junior B Championship as a youngster. Also a good golfer.
Served in WW II with the Toronto Scottish Light Infantry.
Worked 15 years as a parks foreman in Lethbridge before moving on to serve as Lethbridge’s business representative, for 20 years, with the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
Passed away after a lengthy illness.

D'origines anglaises et écossaises, son grand frère Robert est né à Kilmarnock, en Ecosse, d'où ses parents sont partis pour le Canada.
Il avait trois frères et deux soeurs. Surnommé "Nap" à la naissance par son père.
Plus petit joueur de l'équipe championne du monde 1951, mais un ailier très rapide. Appelé "la petite boule de feu".
Il a remporté le championnat Junior B de l'Alberta quand il était jeune. C'était également un bon golfeur.
Il a fait la Seconde Guerre mondiale dans l'infanterie légère écossaise de Toronto.
Il a travaillé 15 ans comme responsable des parcs de Lethbridge avant de devenir représentant dans la même ville, pendant 20 ans, du Syndicat Canadien des Employés de la Fonction Publique.
Décédé des suites d'une longue maladie.
