Born in Glasgow, Scotland to Scottish parents, but moved to Prince Albert, SK when he was 12.
Played for Prince Albert Mintos in the North Saskatchewan Hockey League before coming to Great Britain in 1934.
He quickly established himself as an authority both on and off the ice. Had good leadership qualities.
Played at the 1935 World Championships and backed up the phenomenal Jimmy Foster in 1937.
Captained Perth Panthers in 1938/39.
Played in Great Britain until the outbreak of WW II.
Then played for Winnipeg RCAF Bombers. Continued playing in Canada until retiring in 1952.
Coached in the Pacific Coast Hockey League before the league folded due to financial reasons.
In the 1950s and 60s he was the scout for New York Rangers in British Columbia.
Passed away of Colon Cancer at Burnaby General Hospital.

Ensuite, il a porté les couleurs des RCAF Bombers de Winnipeg. Il joua au Canada jusqu'à sa retraite en 1952.
Entraîneur en Pacific Coast Hockey League avant que le championnat ne coule en raison de problèmes financiers.
Dans les années 1950 et 60 il fut prospecteur pour les Rangers de New York en Colombie Britannique.
Mort d'un cancer du colon à l'hôpital général de Burnaby.
