Brother of Kelly and Kip Miller. Cousin of Ryan and Drew Miller, all NHL players.
His daughter Hannah was a top figure skater, finishing 7th in the 2017 US championships.
Solid two-way player and useful defensively. Good team player.
He played three seasons in Switzerland and was involved in an incident during a game in 2000. He hit fellow North American, Andrew McKim from behind, ending McKim’s career. Miller was charged and convicted of simple bodily harm, intentional bodily harm and gross negligence in Switzerland's Canton of Zürich in 2004. Court procedures dragged on for many years, and in 2014 a U.S. District Judge ordered Miller to pay $ 1.6 million to McKim.
Retired in 2005. Went on to work for Further Lane Securities.

Retraité en 2005, il travailla ensuite pour l'entreprise de conseil en investissement Further Lane Securities.
