Born and grew up in Kraków where he played under the tutelage of Antoni Montean and Stanislaw Cieslak.
As a teenager he moved to Germany with his parents.
Obtained dual citizenship after having played many years in Germany.
He first made the Polish national team in 2000 and represented Poland a total of 24 times (2+1).
Mieszkowski had great size (197 cm / 6’6” and 98 kg / 216 Ibs) and used his size accordingly.
He retired in 2005. His wife was a volleyball player. His sons Mike and Darren played in the DEL.

Il est né et a grandi à Cracovie où il a joué sous la tutelle d'Antoni Montean et Stanislaw Cieslak.
Adolescent, il partit en Allemagne avec ses parents. Il y obtint la double nationalité après y avoir joué de nombreuses années.
Il fit son apparition en équipe de Pologne en 2000 et totalisa 24 sélections (2+1).
Mieszkowski possédait une grande carrure (1m97 et 98 kg) et savait l'utiliser.
Il prit sa retraite en 2005. Son épouse était une volleyeuse. Ses fils Mike et Darren ont joué en DEL.
