Grew up with his brother Alfred (1884-1956). Both were great overall sportsmen and competed in several sports.
His brother Alfred was a Swiss champion in four different sports and was an Olympic figure skater for Switzerland at the 1920 Olympics and a three time Swiss figure skating champion (1919, 1921 and 1924).
Arnold was the co-founder of Club des Patineurs de Lausanne in 1908.
He represented Switzerland in football on two occasions against France in 1905 and 1908.
Played league football for Montriond-Sports Lausanne and Servette FC, winning the league title in 1907.
In ice hockey he also played as a left wing and won the Swiss championship with CP Lausanne in 1911.
Together with his brother Alfred they worked as figure skating instructors. Arnold was an instructor well into the 1940s.
Arnold also was a physical educational teacher for Institut de gymnastique la grotte and a school in Caux.
He graduated from secondary high school in 1902 and later became a licenced physio therapist.

Il a grandi aux côtés de son frère Alfred (1884-1956). Tous deux étaient extrêmement sportifs et actifs dans plusieurs disciplines.
Son frère Alfred fut champion de Suisse dans quatre sports différents et a représenté le pays en patinage artistique à l'occasion des JO de 1920, également trois fois champion de Suisse dans cette discipline (1919, 1921 et 1924).
Arnold fut l'un des co-fondateurs du Club des Patineurs de Lausanne en 1908.
Il fut international suisse de football à l'occasion de deux matchs contre la France en 1905 et 1908.
Dans ce sport il joua au Montriond-Sports Lausanne et au Servette FC, remportant le championnat en 1907.
Au hockey il jouait défenseur ou ailier gauche, et il a gagné le titre avec le CP Lausanne en 1911.
Avec son frère Alfred, ils travaillaient comme moniteurs de patinage artistique. Arnold exerça jusque dans les années 1940.
Il était professeur d'éducation physique à Institut de gymnastique la grotte, et dans une école de Caux.
Il obtint l'équivalent du baccalauréat en 1902 puis un diplôme en physiothérapie.
