Born in Regina, and played his junior hockey in Saskatchewan.
He was great athlete, excelling in several sports, like Lacrosse, American Football and Baseball.
However, ice hockey was his main sport.
Was part of the New York Rangers organization early on. Although he didn’t play much in the NHL, he carved out a very solid minor league career.
Always displayed good leadership qualities. Had the ability to get his teammates over any psychological obstacles by positive influence and pep talk.
He was a late addition to the Canadian World Championship team in 1961.
Playing coach in 1966. Later worked as a hockey coach and general manager.
Also worked as a pilot. Inducted into the IIHF Hockey Hall of Fame.

Appelé de dernière minute pour les Mondiaux de 1961.
Entraîneur-joueur en 1966. Il fut ensuite entraîneur et manager général.
Il travaillait comme pilote. Intronisé au Hall of Fame de l'IIHF.
37 points (14+23) en 106 parties de saison régulière dans la NHL.
