Funny and good-humoured guy. Popular in locker rooms for his positive attitude.
Co-captain of Catholic Memorial Prep School (Boston) hockey team) with Kevin Ahearn. Both would later win an Olympic silver medal together.
Dick McGlynn served in the U.S. Army in Washington when he played for the National team.
Selected by New England (WHA) in the 1972 General draft and by Chicago Cougars (WHA) in the 1973 Pro draft.
Retired in 1973 after only one pro season.
His father John served as a Mayor for Medford between 1962-67, 70-71 and 76-77. Michael (Dick's brother) followed in the footsteps of his father and served as a Mayor of Medford between 1988 and 2016.

Co-capitaine de l'équipe de l'école préparatoire Catholic Memorial à Boston avec Kevin Ahearn. Tous deux remportèrent ensemble la médaille d'argent olympique.
McGlynn travaillait pour l'U.S. Army à Washington quand il jouait pour la sélection nationale.
Choisi par New England dans la draft générale de WHA en 1972 et par les Cougars de Chicago dans la draft pro WHA en 1973, il a pris sa retraite en 1973 après une seule saison pro.
Son père John fut maire de Medford entre 1962 et 1967, entre 1970 et 1971 et entre 1976 et 1977. Michael, le frère de Dick, a suivi ses traces et est également devenu maire de Medford entre 1988 et 2016.
