Younger brother of Larry. Canadian born and raised player.
He first played hockey in his hometown of Buckingham and later in Cobalt, Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
Came to the United States in 1915 and attended University of Pittsburgh.
Served with the United States Motor Transport Corps in WW I. Got an honorable discharge from the Army and was automatically entitled US citizenship.
He and his brother became naturalized Americans five weeks before the 1920 Olympics. Captained the American team.
Scored 40 goals during his last season in Pittsburgh 1922.
Regarded as one of the cleanest and fairest players of his time.
Known for his powerful shot that he many times zinged from 50 feet, past surprised goaltenders.
Deadly accurate with his shots from the right side.
Aside from his uncanny scoring ability he was one of the most scintillant skaters.
While he didn’t always take the line of least resistance, he wasted little energy.
Retired in 1932. On January 23, 1934 the Pittsburgh Post Gazette wrote that he had died, which wasn’t accurate as he passed away 24 years later.
He is buried at Notre Dame cemetery in Sudbury.

Il commença le hockey dans sa ville de Buckingham avant de jouer à Cobalt, Cleveland et Pittsburgh.
Il arriva aux États-Unis en 1915 et rejoignit l'Université de Pittsburgh.
En intégrant le corps des transports motorisés américains durant la Première Guerre mondiale, il avait droit à la nationalité américaine une fois démobilisé.
Son frère et lui furent donc naturalisés américains cinq semaines avant les Jeux Olympiques 1920 où il fut capitaine.
Auteur de 40 buts (matches amicaux inclus) durant sa dernière saison à Pittsburgh en 1922.
Considéré comme l'un des joueurs les plus propres de sa génération.
Son lancer puissant était réputé, il l'utilisait souvent de 15 mètres pour surprendre les gardiens.
Venus du côté droit, ses tirs étaient presque chirurgicaux.
En plus de ses dons de buteur, il était un très beau patineur. Même s'il ne choisissait pas toujours la facilité, il gaspillait peu d'énergie.
Retraité en 1932. Le Pittsburgh Post Gazette a rapporté sa mort le 23 janvier 1934, par erreur puisqu'il décéda 24 ans plus tard.
Enterré au cimetière Notre Dame de Sudbury.
