The oldest of three hockey playing brothers Mazza.
All three represented Italy at the 1924 European Championships.
He still played hockey for the newly formed Juventus Torino team in the early 1940s together with brother Pio.
The tradition of the Mazza family playing hockey in Torino continued in the 1950s and 1960s with Tito, Paolo and Roberto Mazza.
Luigi Mazza was an engineer. He died after a brief illness.

Les trois furent sélectionnés avec l'Italie pour la Coupe d'Europe de 1924.
Il jouait encore au hockey dans l'équipe nouvellement formée de la Juventus Turin au début des années 1940 avec son frère Pio.
