Son of Kazimierz Małysiak. Offensively gifted player.
Scored 224 goals in 422 Polish league games.
Defected from Poland during the 1982 Pool B World Championships.
Together with his teammates Justin Denisiuk and Boguslaw Maj they seeked asylum in Vienna and eventually settled down in West Germany where they continued their playing careers.
Retired in 1998 after having played 15 seasons in West Germany/Germany.
Made a one game comeback in 2001/02 in the Bayern landesliga.

Avec Justin Denisiuk et Boguslaw Maj, ils demandèrent l'asile à Vienne et s'établirent finalement en RFA où ils poursuivirent leurs carrières de joueurs.
Retraité en 1998 après 15 saisons passées en Allemagne, sauf un match joué en 2001/02 en Landesliga bavaroise.
