Grew up in International Falls and graduated from High School in 1957.
Served in the Army Reserves.
Enrolled at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis, graduated there in 1966 with a B.S. in Education.
Won two State Championships with International Falls. Represented USA in 1958 and 1962.
Made his World Championship debute when he was 18 years and six months old.
A naturally gifted athlete. Known for his hard wrist shot.
His thick forearms were the twin engines that fueled all those wicked shots.
Equally good at scoring on his backhand and forehand. Great competitor who hated to lose.
Also good football and baseball player. Remained active in hockey, coaching.
He retired from Sell Hardware in 2002. Died peacefully at St.Mary’s hospice unit with his family at his side.

Il a grandi à International Falls et fut diplômé au lycée en 1957.
Il a servi dans l'armée de réserves.
Il a rejoint l'Université de Minnesota-Minneapolis, y fut diplômé en 1966 dans le domaine de l'éducation.
Il fut deux fois champion du Minnesota avec International Falls. Sélectionné avec les Etats-Unis en 1958 et 1962.
Il fit ses débuts aux Mondiaux à 18 ans et six mois.
Un athlète né. Connu pour son lourd lancer du poignet.
Ses avant-bras puissants étaient à l'origine de cette force au lancer.
Il savait marquer tant directement qu'en revers. Un grand compétiteur qui avait la défaite en horreur.
Également bon footballeur et joueur de baseball. Il resta actif dans le hockey comme entraîneur.
Il s'installa à Sell Hardware en 2002. Mort paisiblement à l'hospice St.Mary entouré de sa famille.
