The Ludwiczak family owned a farm in the area of Września, before moving to Poznań.
His father was a cutter, working for a tailoring company, Kaczmarek and co-owned S-ka.
Witalis mother was a housewife, taking care of the house and five children.
When graduating from school in 1929 he earned excellent grades from Latin, Greek, French, history, physics, propaedeutics of philosophy, natural science and physical education.
In 1936 he began working as a lawyer in the Katowice municipality. Learned to skate at age of 5.
He represented Poland 47 times (3 goals).
Also an excellent rower who won the Polish championship in 1933 (fours) and also participated in the European Championships that year.
As the war opened in he took part of the September 1939 campaign.
He served in the 73rd Infantry Regiment of Oświęcim, and took part in the Battle of Wyrami, reaching Tomaszów Lubelski, where he was taken prisoner.
Ludwiszak was a prisoner of war at the Woldenberg garrison
After the war, he became a research worker at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań.
He was the author of over 60 scientific works in the field of law. (Professor of civil law in 1969)
He never left his passion for hockey behind him and worked as a coach (national team 1955)
Ludwiczak was also a long-time president of AZS Poznań, and worked as a referee.
He was highly decorated, among others receiving Officer and Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta and the Golden Cross of Merit, as well as the medal bachelor of Kalos Kagathos (1985).

La famille Ludwiczak tenait une ferme dans les environs de Września avant d'arriver à Poznań.
Son père était tailleur, employé de la maison de couture Kaczmarek et copropriétaire de S-ka. Sa mère s'occupait de la maison et de ses cinq enfants.
Quand il fut diplômé en 1929, il obtint des mentions d'excellence en latin, grec, français, histoire, sciences physiques, philosophie, sciences naturelles et éducation physique.
En 1936 il commença à travailler à Cracovie comme avocat. Sur la glace, il avait appris à patiner à 5 ans.
47 sélections en équipe de Pologne (3 buts).
Excellent rameur qui remporta le championnat de Pologne en 1933 (à quatre) et participa aux championnats d'Europe d'aviron la même année.
À l'ouverture de la guerre, il prit part à la campagne de septembre 1939.
Il servait dans le 73e régiment d'infanterie d'Oświęcim, et participa à la bataille de Wyrami, atteignant Tomaszów Lubelski, quand il fut fait prisonnier.
Ludwiszak était un prisonnier de guerre de la garnison Woldenberg
Après la guerre, il débuta des recherches à l'université Adam Mickiewicz de Poznań.
Il est l'auteur de 60 écrits scientifiques dans le domaine du droit (professeur de droit civil en 1969).
Il n'a jamais perdu la passion du hockey et fut également entraîneur (de la sélection nationale en 1955)
Ludwiczak fut également longtemps président de l'AZS Poznań, et travailla comme arbitre.
Hautement décoré, recevant la médaille d'officier et de chevalier de la croix de l'ordre de Polonia Restituta, et la médaille d'or du mérite, ainsi que la médaille Kalos Kagathos (en 1985).
