Came from a sports oriented family. His father was an amateur cycling champion in the early 1900s.
He learned to skate at an early age at the Molitor ice rink in Paris.
Spent every summer in Normandie and became a good volleyball player.
Also lived there for a short while before moving back to Paris in September 1940.
At the age of 13 he began playing ice hockey. In 1943 he was the French junior speed skating champion.
He continued to practice several sports and was good at gymnastics, athletics, swimming and volleyball.
Played ice hockey in ACBB until 1970 and was by that time called "Mr Hockey" by sports journalists.
Longuet won the Coupe Marvin 5 times and Coupe Schaeffer 6 times.
He finished his playing career in C.S.G.P. retiring in 1974 after 33 years as a player.

Il venait d'une famille de sportifs. Son père fut champion de cyclisme amateur dans les années 1900.
Il apprit jeune à patiner sur la patinoire Molitor de Paris.
Il passait ses étés en Normandie et devint excellent joueur de volleyball.
Il y vécut un court moment avant de retourner à Paris en septembre 1940.
À 13 ans il commença à jouer au hockey. En 1943 il fut champion de France junior de patinage de vitesse.
Il continua à pratiquer de nombreux sports tels que la gymnastique, l'athlétisme, la natation et le volleyball.
Il joua à l'ACBB jusqu'en 1970 et y fut surnommé "Monsieur Hockey" par les journalistes sportifs.
Longuet remporta la Coupe Marvin 5 fois et la Coupe Schaeffer 6 fois.
Il termina sa carrière de joueur au C.S.G.P. et prit sa retraite en 1974 après 33 ans de jeu.
