Born in Montreal, QC but moved with his family to Hudson, QC, when he was six months old.
In Hudson, a suburb of Montreal he went to kindergarten, elementary and high school.
His father had emigrated from Italy when he was eight years old.
Lombardi played with good speed and finesse. He had a hard shot and was a fine stick handler.
Improved his two-way play in later years.
As a player he always admired and respected Steve Yzerman.
Moved to Switzerland in 2013 and had a good season there, earning him a new NHL-contract.
He failed to crack the NY Rangers roster and was assigned to the minors.
Instead of reporting to the AHL, he returned back to Switzerland, playing there two more years.
Announced his retirement on November 24, 2016.

Né à Montréal, il déménagea avec sa famille à Hudson quand il avait six mois.
C'est à Hudson, dans la banlieue de Montréal, qu'il fit toute sa scolarité primaire et secondaire.
Son père avait émigré d'Italie à l'âge de huit ans.
Lombardi jouait avec beaucoup de vitesse et de finesse. Il possédait un lancer puissant et était bon crosse en main.
Il améliora son jeu défensif dans les dernières années.
Chez les joueurs, il admirait et respectait Steve Yzerman.
Parti en Suisse en 2013, il y connut une excellente saison et décrocha un nouveau contrat NHL.
Mais il ne parvint à gagner sa place dans l'effectif des Rangers, et fut assigné en ligues mineures.
Plutôt que de jouer en AHL, il retourna deux annes supplémentaires en Suisse avant d'annoncer sa retraite le 24 novembre 2016.
