His great-grandfather immigrated to Canada from Sweden.
Came out of juniors as the most sought after player in the world.
A prototype of a modern power forward who had everything a team wanted in a player.
His hard-nosed style caused him to miss significant time with injuries, and he had many problems with concussions which eventually forced him to retire.
Was an Olympic All-Star in 1992, All-Star at the 1993 World Championships and also voted as the best forward of the tournament.
Announced his retirement on November 8, 2007.
Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Il était le junior le plus suivi au monde de sa génération.
Prototype de l'attaquant puissant au style moderne, qui avait tout ce dont une équipe pouvait rêver.
Son style de jeu musclé lui valut de sérieuses blessures, et ses problèmes de commotions cérébrales l'obligèrent finalement à prendre sa retraite.
Dans l'équipe-type des Jeux de 1992, des Mondiaux de 1993 et également désigné meilleur attaquant du tournoi.
Il annonça sa retraite le 8 novembre 2007.
Intronisé au Hockey Hall of Fame.
865 points (372+493) en 760 parties de saison régulière de NHL.
