Played college hockey for the University of Minnesota where he played on the “Buzzsaw Line” with Gary Schmalzbauer and Dave Brooks. They all had a hustling work ethic.
He was always ready to defend the American colors in international play.
Spent four seasons playing in Austria (Kitzbühel player/coach in 1968/69, 1970/71 and 1971/72, Salzburg player in 1975/76).
Outside hockey he was an architect and builder who participated in the design of the St. Paul Civic Center, completed in January 1973.
He was actually playing at the time for the arena's home team, the Minnesota Fighting Saints, in the WHA, NHL's short-lived contender.

Il joua en hockey scolaire pour l'Université de Minnesota sur la ligne "Buzzsaw" avec Gary Schmalzbauer et Dave Brooks. Tous trois possédaient une incroyable éthique de travail.
Toujours prompt à porter les couleurs de la sélection américaine dans les rencontres internationales.
Il joua quatre saisons en Autriche (entraîneur-joueur de Kitzbühel en 1968/69, 1970/71 et 1971/72, joueur de Salzbourg en 1975/76).
En dehors du hockey il était architecte et était d'ailleurs venu en Autriche pour étudier le style local. Il participa à la conception du St. Paul Civic Center, patinoire inaugurée en janvier 1973.
Lors de l'inauguration, il était hockeyeur pour le club résident, les Fighting Saints du Minnesota, au sein de la WHA, ligue concurrente de la NHL créée cette saison-là.
