Father of Brian Lebler.
His parents originally emigrated from Austria in the 1950s.
He earned a pharmacology degree from the University of Wisconsin and became NCAA champion in 1981.
Came to Austria in the early 1980s and won five league titles.
He scored 921 points (492+429) in 464 Austrian league games.
In Austria he earned a reputation for stepping up in the playoffs, thus earning the nickname "Play-off Edi".
Highlights of his playing career were his trips to the Olympics in 1984 and 1988.
Represented Austria 111 times (69 goals). Retired in 1993.
Moved back to Canada (Penticton, BC) and operated a pharmacy.

Ses parents avait migré d'Autriche vers le Canada dans les années 1950.
Il obtint un doctorat en pharmacie à l'Université du Wisconsin et a été champion NCAA 1981 avec deux buts en finale.
Il arriva en Autriche au début des années 1980 et y remporta cinq championnats.

En Autriche il avait la réputation d'intensifier son jeu à l'occasion des playoffs, ce qui lui valut le surnom de "Play-off Edi".
Les faits marquants de sa carrière furent ses campagnes olympiques de 1984 et 1988.
International autrichien 111 fois (69 buts). Retraité en 1993.
Il rentra ensuite au Canada (à Penticton en Colombie-Britannique) pour y ouvrir une pharmacie.
