Young brother of Niklas Kronwall. Born in Viksjö, Järfälla, a suburb of Stockholm.
Fairly physical stay-at-home defenseman with some offensive qualities. Good size, strength and reach. Average passing skills and decent hockey sense and technical skills. Spent many years playing in the KHL, captaining Lokomotiv Yaroslavl for several seasons.

Défenseur sans fantaisie doté d'un appréciable impact offensif. Grand, costaud et de belle envergure, davantage que son frère, mais moins bon relanceur même si sa palette technique reste large pour le poste. Passage éphémère en NHL, il s'est plutôt installé en KHL où il est devenu capitaine du Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
