His father Włodzimierz Kopczyński, a five-time Polish champion with Cracovia, became coach of the team after he retired in 1954. He also trained the youth, including his own son.
Adam, an unspectacular but steady defenseman, represented Poland 107 times (6 goals).
Played a total of 413 league games, scoring 113 goals.
Finished his playing career in Belgium as a popular playing trainer and retired in 1994, shortly before his 46th birthday.
Died from COVID-19.

Son père Włodzimierz Kopczyński fut cinq fois champion de Pologne avec Cracovia puis entraîneur de cette équipe après sa retraite en 1954. Il s'occupa aussi des jeunes et s'occupa de son fils.
Défenseur régulier et sérieux, à défaut d'être spectaculaire, Adam porta 107 fois le maillot de l'équipe nationale de Pologne (six buts).
413 matches de championnat, 113 buts. Il acheva sa carrière par un long passage en Belgique où il fut entraîneur-joueur et resta sur la glace jusqu'à ses 46 ans, en 1994.
