Very good playmaker with a good feel for the game and smartness. Often not shooting enough. Good skater and stickhandler. A crowd pleaser.
Never settled in the NHL, playing in the AHL instead, but established himself as a reliable player in the KHL.
From May 2010 to May 2015, he participated in all international tournaments for Team Finland, but one : he was injured before 2011 World Championships, and it was unfortunately the year Leijonat won the gold medal !
Chosen as the best forward and made the All-Star team at the 2013 World Championships.

Centre de première ligne, passeur et meneur de jeu aux brillantes inspirations. Patineur endurant à la technique affinée qui plaît au public, mais qui ne tire pas assez à la cage.
Ne s'est jamais imposé en NHL avec 5 points (0+5) en 12 parties. Lassé de l'AHL, il est devenu une valeur sûre en Russie.
En cinq ans, entre mai 2010 et mai 2015, il a disputé toutes les compétitions internationales pour la Finlande sauf une : il était blessé pour les championnats du monde 2011, et malheureusement pour lui c'est l'année où les Leijonat ont remporté le titre !
Élu meilleur attaquant des Mondiaux 2013, inscrit dans l'équipe-type de l'épreuve.
