Karrenbauer, Bernd ("Karre")

Born in the small German town of Rom, a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (not in Rome, Italy as all other sources have). Could play both as a forward and defenseman. Not very big but solid with good balance.
Came to SC Dynamo Berlin in 1962 and scored 90 (63+27) points in 147 games for them. He also won three league titles with the club. Represented East Germany 200 times. Retired in 1975.
Inducted into the German Hockey Hall of Fame.

Pas très étoffé physiquement, Karrenbauer était un défenseur polyvalent, capable de dépanner devant, qui misait sur son équilibre et sa condition physique.
Arrivé au Dynamo Berlin en 1962, il y a inscrit 90 points (63+27) en 147 matches officiels, finissant trois fois champion national. Un des rares joueurs à compter plus de sélections internationales (200, avec la RDA) que de rencontres officielles en club. Prit sa retraite de joueur en 1975.
Introduit au Hall of Fame du hockey allemand.
