Gösta Karlsson

Karlsson, Ivar Gösta ("Käppen")

Position : G

16-09-1910 Södertälje, SWE
12-08-2003 Södertälje, SWE

Was an emergency backup to Herman Carlson in 1932 and travelled to Berlin a few days into the tournament, but never dressed. Still holds the Swedish record for most consecutive shutouts, once registering nine in a row. He had 42 shutouts in 128 league games and a GAA of 1,29.
Nicknamed "Käppen" (The Cane) as he once tended goal with his grandfather's cane instead of a goalie stick.
