Started his playing career with Ilves Tampere where he won two league titles in 1962 and 1972. In Finland he also played for HIFK Helsinki and Tappara Tampere. Played two seasons with KAC Klagenfurt in Austria, winning titles in both seasons (1969/70 and 1970/71. Finished his playing career in 1977 after seasons in Austria, Italy and West Germany. Represented Finland 21 times (6+5).

Formé à l'Ilves Tampere, club avec lequel il débute en senior et obtient deux titres de champion de Finlande (1962 et 1972). Entretemps, il aura porté les maillots du HIFK et du Tappara en Finlande, et de Klagenfurt en Autriche qu'il emmène deux fois au titre national (1969/70 et 1971). Retourne ensuite en Autriche puis bifurque vers l'Italie et l'Allemagne de l'ouest où il achève sa carrière en 1977. 21 sélections nationales, 11 points (6+5).
