Younger brother of Bill Johnson. Fine playmaking forward who could play right wing and centre. In 1960/61 he was the fourth best scorer for Detroit Red Wings, and was only outscored on the team by three Hall of Fame players (Howe, Delvecchio and Ullman). Retired in 1969.

Frère de Bill Johnson. Attaquant créatif qui s'en sortait bien également au poste de centre. Eut un passage par la NHL au début des années soixante, chez les Red Wings, et en 1960-1961 il termina même quatrième pointeur de l'équipe derrière, excusez du peu, trois futurs membres du Temple de la Renommée (Howe, Delvecchio et Ullman). Prend sa retraite de joueur en 1969.
