Received his primary education at Lansdowne School and then went to Harbord Street Collegiate Institute in downtown Toronto.
Later graduated from the Royal Military College in Kingston.
In 1912 he won first place in his class and was awarded the Canadian Government Scholarship, entitling him to a two-years post-graduate course at the Military Engineers College at Chatham, England.
This in turn was the reason why he played for England at the 1914 LIHG tournament.
During his time in Chatham he was presented to the King.
Completed his post-graduate course in October 1914. Immediately joined the Canadian forces.
Served in the military (R.M.C Kingston and S.M.E. Chatham). Captain in WW I (Royal Canadian Engineers).
One of 637 men killed in action during a trench raid in the battle of Vimy Ridge.

A reçu son éducation à la Lansdowne School puis au Harbord Street Collegiate Institute dans le centre ville de Toronto.
Fut plus tard diplômé du Royal Military College à Kingston.
En 1912, premier de sa classe, il reçoit une bourse du gouvernement canadien qui lui permett de passer 2 ans au Military Engineers College à Chatham en Angleterre.
C’est pour cette raison qu’il joue pour l’Angleterre au tournoi LIHG de 1914.
Durant son passage à Chatham, il a été présenté au Roi.
Il a fini son post-diplôme en octobre 1914 et rejoint immédiatement les forces canadiennes. A servi dans l’armée (RMC Kingston et SME Chatham).
Capitaine pendant la Première Guerre mondiale (Royal Canadian Engineers).
L’un de 637 hommes tués pendant la bataille de Vimy.
