Born in Toronto and grew up there. His father was born in USA and came to Canada as a 13-year old in 1873.
Lou Hudson matriculated from Humberside College in 1917. He studied dentistry for two years, entering University of Toronto.
Lou Hudson became a dentist in civilian life, having received his medical degree in 1926.
Noted as a great authority both on and off the ice, which often led him to captain his teams. Clean and clever player.
Also described as a wonderful backchecker with a powerful backhand shot, making him effective on either right or left wing.
Broke into hockey playing with Aura Lee Juniors (OHA-Jr.) in 1916/17, winning an OHA junior championship with them.
Played in 88 OHA and CIHU games, scoring 83 goals and adding 29 assists for a total of 112 points.
Retired after the Olympic tournament in 1928. Was an excellent curler in later years.
His brother Henry was the personal dentist of Maple Leaf hero Bill Barilko, and was the one who piloted the plane which went missing on August 27th, 1951, killing both Barilko and Hudson.
At the age of 77, Dr.Lou Hudson was found dead in his home at Timmins.

Né à Toronto où il a grandi. Son père né aux Etats-Unis est arrivé au Canada à 13 ans en 1873.
Lou est diplômé de l’Humberside College en 1917. Il a étudié deux ans la médecine dentaire à l’Université de Toronto.
Il est devenu dentiste dans la vie civile, recevant son diplôme en 1926.
Connu pour être une grande autorité sur et hors glace, ce qui fit de lui le capitaine de ses équipes. Joueur propre et intelligent.
Très bon au repli défensif, son tir puissant du revers le rendait aussi efficace à l'aile gauche ou à l'aile droite.
Joue avec les Juniors d’Aura Lee (OHA-Jr) en 1916/17, gagnant avec eux le championnat.
Joue 88 matchs OHA et CIHU, marquant 83 buts et 29 assistances pour 112 points.
Retraité après les Jeux olympiques 1928. Devenu ultérieurement un très bon joueur de curling.
Son frère Henry était le dentiste personnel du héros des Maple Leafs Bill Barilko et fut celui qui pilotait l’avion disparu le 27 août 1951, tuant Barilko et Hudson. ans
