Born in Saint Louis, Minnesota and grew up in Eveleth.
His greatgrandparents from his fathers side were natives of Finland.
Exciting and explosive player. ECAC player of the year in 1980.
Had at least one point in 32 consecutive games for Vermont between 1979 and 1980.
Was invited by Herb Brooks to join the US National team before the 1980 Olympics, but declined the invitation, thus missing out on the Olympic Gold.
Attended a few NHL training camps and played three years in Britain.
Retired in 1989 after having scored a total of 845 (375+470) career points in 533 games.
Went on to work as a recreation director of the Join Powers Board of Eveleth.
Born November 15 according to US census and November 29 according to other sources.
