Had three brothers and three sisters. Came from an upper middle class family.
His father worked as a company manager and later as a book printer.
Great propagator of hockey and also played bandy at the highest level.
Had a vast deal of hockey experience at an early age. Had a very good and hard shot.
Was a quick and elegant skater with great size and incredible hands.
Known to go straight at goal, almost in a North American fashion.
Known to play poorly during training scrimmages, but always well during games.
Regarded as the best Swedish left winger before World War II. He actually started playing bandy as a junior for Reymersholms IK.
In 1920/21 he came to Kronobergs IK where he started playing ice hockey. He was quickly scooped up by IK Göta, at that time the dominant force in Swedish ice hockey.
In the early 1920s he alternated between Berliner SC in Germany and IK Göta.
In Berlin he played alongside two other Swedish players, Lulle Johansson and Nils Molander.
At the 1924 Olympics he was chosen as the best European player of the tournament.
Won two European Championships (1923 and 1928).
He left Stockholm and IK Göta in 1928 and continued playing bandy for Örebro SK and Malmökamraterna.
Represented Sweden 30 times (30 goals), plus two games vs club teams etc. (2 goals).
Was an international hockey referee Inducted into the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame.

Avait trois frères et trois soeurs. Issu d’une famille de la classe moyenne supérieure. Son père était manager et plus tard imprimeur de livres.
Grand propagateur du hockey sur glace, il a aussi joué au bandy à haut niveau. Il a vite accumulé une vaste expérience du hockey.
Tir très bon et puissant. Patineur rapide et élégant avec une grande taille et des mains incroyables.
Connu pour aller tout de suite au but, dans un style nord-américain.
Jouait mal pendant les entraînements, mais très bien en match.
Considéré comme le meilleur ailier gauche suédois avant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
Il a commencé par le bandy en junior pour Reymersholms IK.
En 1920/21, il vient au Kronobergs IK où il commence le hockey sur glace.
Il est repéré rapidement par le IK Göta, alors le club dominant en Suède.
Dans les années 20, il joue alternativement pour le Berliner SC en Allemagne et l’IK Göta.
À Berlin, joue avec deux autres Suédois, Lulle Johansson et Nils Molander.
Aux Jeux olympiques de 1924, il est choisi comme meilleur Européen du tournoi.
Double champion d'Europe (1923 et 1928). Il quitte Stockholm et l’IK Göta en 1928 et continue le bandy avec Örebro SK et Malmökamraterna.
30 sélections avec la Suède (30 buts), sans compter deux matchs contre des clubs (2 buts).
Fut arbitre international. Introduit au Temple de la renommée du hockey suédois.
