Primarily a bog, defensively-oriented blueliner who liked to play a physical brand of hockey.
Played a simple game within his limitations. Good first pass and hard shot from the point.
Suspended after two games of the 2008 World Championships while playing for Germany when it was discovered that there was an IIHF eligibility violation, as it was determined that Holland had not fullfilled four years’ of playing in Germany before a switch of nationality. Indeed he had represented Canada at the 1996 World Junior Championships.
Retired in 2012. Went on to work with real estate in Edmonton, AB.

Grand gabarit (192 cm, 98 kg) qui a joué la majeure partie de sa carrière comme pur défenseur défensif, solide dans sa zone.
Il pratiquait un hockey physique et simple car il connaissait ses limites. Bonne première passe, tir puissant.
Suspendu après deux matchs aux Mondiaux de 2008, alors qu’il jouait pour l’Allemagne, lorsqu’on a découvert qu’il violait les règles de l’IIHF. Il a été déterminé qu’il n’avait pas joué les quatre années nécessaires en Allemagne pour changer d'équipe nationale. Il avait en effet déjà représenté le Canada aux Mondiaux juniors 1996.
Retraité en 2012. Il a alors travaillé dans l'immobilier à Edmonton.
