Older brother of Martin Hohenberger.
Always played hard and never backed off from the physical stuff as he collected almost 2500 penalty minutes in his career.
He played in the AHL and IHL and was part of a couple of NHL training camp before going back to Austria at 22.
QMJHL champion 1989. German champion 1995 with Cologne. Five time Austrian league champion.
Best scorer among defencemen in Austrian national team history, with 73 points (22+51) in 158 games.
Scored 523 (162+357) career points in 627 Austrian league games. Became a hockey coach.
His number 30 has been retired by Villacher SV.

Jouant toujours dur et ne reculant jamais devant le travail physique, ce qui lui valut près de 2500 minutes de pénalité en carrière.
Il a aussi joué en AHL et en IHL et a participé à quelques camps d’entraînement NHL avant de rentrer en Autriche à 22 ans.
Champion de LHJMQ avec les Olympiques de Hull (1989), champion d'Allemagne 1995 et quintuple champion d’Autriche.
Meilleur marqueur des défenseurs dans l'histoire de l'équipe nationale d'Autriche, avec 73 points (22+51) en 158 sélections.
523 points (162+357) en 627 parties de ligue autrichienne.
Devenu entraîneur en Autriche et en Allemagne, il a promu Selb en DEL2 après avoir surmonté un cancer deux ans plus tôt.
Son numéro 30 a été retiré par le Villacher SV.
