Son of an architect. Exceptional reflexes, valiant and skilled player. Was a funny guy in private life with lots of humour. Was titled as a doctor in civilian life. Also represented Hungary in Field Hockey at the 1936 Summer Olympics. Had a long and distinguished playing career and was regarded as one of Europe’s best goaltenders in the 1930s.
Began his ice hockey career in FTC Budapest at the age of 16. Soon after he played for BKE Budapest between 1938-46. His later clubs included MTK (1946-49), Textiles (1949/50), Vörös Lobogó (1950/51), Postás (1951-54) and Ujpesti Dózsa (1955-58).
Coach and referee during the 1947 Winter Universiade.
Retired in 1958 after having defected during a hockey tournament.
Inducted into the Hungarian Hockey Hall of Fame.

Fils d'architecte, homme très spirituel et drôle, il avait un doctorat dans la vie civile, mais dont on ignore la discipline.
Gardien aux réflexes hors normes, courageux et plein de talent, ce qui lui permit par ailleurs de participer aux JO d'été 1936 avec l'équipe de Hongrie de hockey sur gazon. Sur glace, Hircsák fut reconnu comme d'un des meilleurs gardiens de but européens des années 1930.
Commence au Ferencváros à 16 ans avant de faire des allers-retours entre ce club et le BKE jusque'à la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. À partir de là, on le retrouve au MTK (1946-49), à Textiles (1949-50), au Vörös Lobogó (1950-51), chez Postás (1951-54) et à l'Ujpesti Dózsa (1955-58).
Coach et arbitre pendant les Universiades d'hiver 1947.
Il arrête le hockey sur glace à 43 ans en 1958 après avoir profité d'un tournoi international pour faire défection.
Introduit au Hall of Fame du hockey hongrois.
