Often refered to as “Hinkel”. Born in Prussia (Germany), in the town of Briesen which later became part of Poland and is today known as Wąbrzeźno.
Came to Canada in 1907 and moved with his family to Winnipeg, MB as a little child.
Mostly played on left defense and was noted as a physically tough defenseman who often played on the edge. Liked to line up his forwards for hits.
Played his entire career in Winnipeg and retired in 1937.
Worked as a grain clerk and construction worker.
Passed away at Mount St.Joseph’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC of Pulmonary Embolism.

Souvent mentionné comme "Hinkel". Né en Prusse (Allemagne) dans la ville de Briesen aujourd'hui située en Pologne et connue sous le nom de Wąbrzeźno.
Il est arrivé au Canada en 1907 et était un bébé quand sa famille s'est installée à Winnipeg, dans le Manitoba.
Il jouait principalement arrière gauche et était connu comme un défenseur physique qui jouait souvait à la limite. Il aimait infliger des mises en échec.
Il a joué toute sa carrière à Winnipeg, jusqu'à sa retraite de joueur en 1937.
Il travaillait comme employé dans l'industrie céréalière et ouvrier dans la construction.
Décédé d'une embolie pulmonaire au Mount St.Joseph’s Hospital de Vancouver.
