Had a good slap shot. Played together with his older brother for a few years in the early 1960s.
Scored 275 (154+121) career points in 590 Finnish league games with the same club (Karhut, later named Ässät Pori).
Finnish champion 1965, 1971 and 1978. Represented Finland 11 times (1+3).
Retired in 1981. His number 2 has been retired by Ässät.
Became coach and general manager. Worked for the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation and the coaching committee.
Inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988, one year after his brother.
He was part of the financial turmoil of the football club FC Jazz in the 1990s and early 2000s. Eventually the District Court of Pori sentenced him to a conditional jail sentence of eight months for gross tax evasion and accounting fraud.

Il avait un bon slap. Il a joué quelques aux côtés de son frère Lasse entre 1961 et 1965.
275 (154+121) points en 590 parties de championnat finlandais avec son club formateur (Karhut puis Ässät Pori après la fusion).
Champion de Finlande 1965, 1971 et 1978. 11 sélections en équipe de Finlande (1+3).
Retraité en 1981. Son numéro de maillot (n°2) a été retiré par Ässät.
Devenu entraîneur et directeur général. Il a aussi travaillé pour la fédération finlandaise et la commission des entraîneurs.
Intronisé en 1988 parmi les Lions du Temple de la renommée du hockey finlandais (Jääkiekkoleijona, numéro 58), un an après son frère (Lion numéro 49, en qualité d'entraîneur).
Il a été impliqué dans la tourmente financière du FC Jazz Pori au tournant du siècle (ce club de football a fait faillite en 2004). Comme d'autres dirigeants, il a été condamné en 2003 à huit mois de prisons avec sursis pour fraude fiscale et comptable.
