During his military service in Jihlava (1975-77), he played with wingers Jan Hrbatý and Josef Augusta.
In Brno, he centered a line with Karel Nekola and Svatopluk Číhal.
Scored 127 goals and 204 assists in 414 Czechoslovak league games.
On the national team he suited up 31 times (5 goals). He started his only world championship on first line between Jaroslav Pouzar and Ivan Hlinka.
Highly skilled center and an excellent playmaker who earned the nickname “The man with the Golden arm” during his years in Germany.
Emigrated from Czechoslovakia to West Germany in 1984 and played five years in Riessersee (with one season in Zurich in-between) and one year in Straubing before his retirement in 1991.
He then worked as HC Kometa Brno manager. He also trained HC Spartak Velká Bíteš during three years.

Centre très talentueux et excellent meneur de jeu qui a récolté le surnom de "L'homme au bras d'or" en Allemagne.
Il a quitté la Tchécoslovaquie pour l'Allemagne de l'ouest en 1984 et a joué cinq ans à Riessersee (avec une saison à Zurich dans l'intervalle) et un an à Straubing avant sa retraite en 1991.
Il a ensuite travaillé comme manager du HC Kometa Brno. Il a aussi entraîné le HC Spartak Velká Bíteš pendant trois ans.
