Son of Ugo Gandini and Anna Maria Tremi.
He came through the HC Milano system as a youngster, playing for the HC Milano junior team way back in the early 1930s.
At first he played as a regular player but became a goalie later on.
He mostly played on the second team of Milan, often being the backup on the first team.
A few years after the war he eventually came back to ice hockey in 1948/49 with the Amatori team.

Il est passé par l'équipe junior du HC Milan, avec laquelle il joue dès le début des années 1930.
Il commence d’abord comme joueur de champ mais devient ensuite gardien.
Il a principalement joué pour la deuxième équipe de Milan et était souvent le gardien remplaçant de l’équipe première.
Quelques années après la guerre, il est finalement revenu au hockey 1948/49 avec l'équipe des Amatori.
