First skated and played hockey on the ponds in Prince Edward island at the age of six.
Nicknamed “Turk” from the age of four and always called that by his friends throughout his life. In the NHL he earned the nickname “Spuddy” because of Prince Edward Island potatoes.
Played a tough brand of hockey. Tenacious in-your-face type of player who scored on many rebounds.
Recognized as one of the feistiest players in the 1980s.
Always ready to take and dish out punishment. Only average skater at best.
A career ending back injury forced him to retire in November 1995.
Regarded Al Secord and Wendel Clark as the fiercest competitors that he ever played against. Turned to coaching after his playing career, working in the NHL.
Assistant coach for Canada at the 2017 World Championships.

Il a commencé à patiner et à jouer au hockey sur l’île-du-Prince-Édouard à l’âge de 6 ans.

Toujours prêt à recevoir et donner des punitions. Seulement moyen dans son patinage.
Sa carrière se termine à cause d’une blessure en novembre 1995.
Considère Al Secord et Wendel Clark comme les joueurs les plus féroces qu’il ait affronté.
Devenu entraîneur en NHL. Assistant-coach du Canada aux Championnats du monde 2017.
480 (211+269) points en 615 parties de saison régulière de NHL.
